German Courses During the Semester at the Lectorate DaF

General information

For international programme students, doctoral students and visiting academics, the Lectorate for German as a Foreign Language offers German courses in preparation for the semester. University staff can take part in all German courses during the semester, provided there are places available.

Course location: depending on the course, probably in classroom lessons or online
ECTS credits: 4 ECTS (prerequisite: successful passing of the exam)

The semester-long German courses offer an introduction to the German language, according to the respective levels. All four skills (listening, reading, writing, speaking) are dealt with in an everyday and balanced way, and grammatical phenomena are analysed and explained. This takes place both in classroom lessons or online, as well as through online tasks and exercises. The main focus is also on the gradual expansion of vocabulary, which is orientated towards the challenges faced by learners of German in Germany. Whether these are problems in everyday life, at university or when dealing with the authorities is not decisive and is given equal consideration by the lecturers. The courses end with a written examination that takes into account all skills and grammatical requirements. It is confirmed with an internal university certificate.

Courses on offer

Various courses can be attended as part of a study or work stay at the University of Greifswald. These conclude with an internal university certificate.

The courses take place during the lecture period from 14.4. to 25.7.2025.
