General Information

For international program students, doctoral students and guest researchers, the Lectorate for German as a Foreign Language offers German courses preparing for the semester. University employees can take part in all German courses during the semester as long as there are free places.

Minimum number of participants for the courses: 10
Course location: in-classroom teaching or online
ECTS credits: 4 ECTS (prerequisite: successful passing of the examination)

The semester-long German courses offer an introduction to the German language, according to the respective level. All four skills (listening, reading, writing, speaking) are dealt with in an everyday and balanced way, as well as grammatical phenomena are analysed and explained. This is done by means of face-to-face teaching. The main focus is also on the successive expansion of vocabulary, which is oriented towards the challenges that a German learner faces in Germany. The participants should be fundamentally prepared and supported for their stay in Germany, which is why there is also room for questions that arise. Whether these are problems in everyday life, at university or when dealing with authorities is not decisive and is taken into account by the lecturers to the same extent. At the end of the courses, there is a written exam that takes into account all skills and grammatical requirements. It is confirmed with an internal university certificate.

ENROLLMENT for international students and employees of the University of Greifswald is from April 2nd. – April 5th, 2024 possible at the following e-mail address:
